School 180 SEMH/Alternative Provision

At School 180, we offer places dedicated to supporting young people who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges alongside other behavioural or educational needs that impact their ability to thrive in mainstream education. Our nurturing and structured environment is designed to help students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to be school ready, work ready and life ready.

We deliver a personalised curriculum that balances academic progress with emotional wellbeing. Students follow core subjects including English, Maths, and Science, alongside a range of vocational pathways, life skills, and therapeutic interventions. Our approach is flexible and responsive, ensuring that each learner receives the support they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.

Our provision places a strong emphasis on relationships, trust, and consistency. We foster a culture of being Positive, Polite, Punctual, Prepared and Productive, helping students to manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and make informed choices.

We work in close partnership with families, schools, and external agencies to provide a joined-up approach to each student’s development. Whether moving on to college, or preparing for employment, our aim is to equip students with the confidence, qualifications, and life skills they need to thrive.

School 180 is proud to be part of Cumberland’s commitment to inclusive education, offering a provision that meets young children’s needs and inspires them to strive for a brighter future.
